July 18th, Saturday 1:00pm – Useful Plants & Tips
Drop by the naturalist table to discover some of the many edible and medicinal plants found in the wild and in your own backyard. No need to run to the supermarket or drug store! Plus, learn to identify the characteristics of a few plants that are better left alone! Located at the Hartman Lake Beach

July 18th, Saturday 7:00pm - Wonder of Wolves
Have you ever wondered about Wisconsin's largest predator? What does it eat? Where does it live? Hands-on games and activities will teach us about wolves, wolf packs, hunting and much much more! Meet at the picnic area above the Hartman Lake Amphitheater

July 25th, Saturday 1:00pm - 3:00pm - Lovely Lepidoptera
Drop on by the naturalist table to learn about these flying jewels. Find out the differences between moths and butterflies, learn about their unique life cycle and what you can do to help with conservation efforts just in time for the 4th Annual National Moth Week. Learn how you can participate in Citizen Science within your own backyard! Located at the Hartman Lake Beach

July 25th, Saturday 7:00pm - 8:00pm - (Animal) Who am I?
Who am I? What do I eat? Why am I important to the environment? Come learn about the animals that call Hartman Creek State Park home. Furs, tracks and skulls will show us the way to finding answers about our wildlife friends. Meet at the picnic area above the Hartman Creek Amphitheater.

August 1st, Saturday 1:00pm - 3:00pm Drop in & Fly Wild
Stop by the naturalist both to learn more about our feathered friends as you participate in many hands-on activities. Located at Hartman Lake Beach.

August 15th, Saturday 2:00pm - 3:30 Something Fishy
Learn about the fish species found at HCSP as you practice Gyotaku, the Japanese art of fish printing. Paint and paper will be provided; participants may bring their own t-shirts, totes, etc. to decorate and take home. Located at Hartman Lake Beach

August 15th, Saturday 7:00pm - From Campfire to Wildfire
In honor of Smokey the Bear’s birthday brush up on the do’s and don’ts when maintaining an outdoor fire. Learn about some of the gear and tools forester’s and wildland firefighters use to fight wildfires. After a brief presentation, play a game of Pin-the-Hat on Smokey and have the chance to toast marshmallows. Located at the Hartman Lake Amphitheater

August 21st, Friday 1:00pm - 3:00pm - Animals in and Around Hartman Creek
Drop by the Hellestad House and Nature Center, where a hands-on display will help you discover interesting facts about the animals that live in and around the park. Located near the Allen Lake parking lot

August 22nd, Saturday 2:00pm - 3:30pm - Buggy Bio-Blitz
When spending time in nature don’t forget about these little guys! Drop by the naturalist table and learn about the fascinating world of insects! Located at Hartman Lake Beach

August 22nd, Saturday 7:00pm - Going Batty
Bats are one of nature’s most misunderstood creatures. Separate facts from fiction when you attend this naturalist program. Kids will have the opportunity to create a bat themed craft to take home at the end of the presentation. Located at the Hartman Lake Amphitheater

August 29th, Saturday 2:00pm - 3:30pm Get Inspired: The Art of Nature
Drop by the naturalist table and let your creativity shine. Make leaf rubbings and other creations by materials found in the natural world. Located at the Hartman Lake Beach

August 29th, Saturday 7:00pm - Animal Tracks
Learn to read the signs and interpret the various clues that animals leave behind in nature. Paper and paint will be provided to all as you learn to identify the tracks you print, or bring a t-shirt, tote bag, or bandana. Located at the Hartman Lake Amphitheater
